A girlfriend of mine whom I have known since I was seven years old recently sent this video to me. It’s one of Corrie Ten Boom’s stories from when she was a prisoner in a concentration camp. A story of answered prayer and encouragement that God hears our prayers, even if we think our feeble words are not important, we can pray about anything. He loves us and wants to comfort and encourage us. Corrie had caught a cold, and her friend Betsy prayed that God would bring her a handkerchief for her cold. Corrie laughed and one day she heard her name being called to the window. A fellow prisoner who worked in the hospital brought Corrie a present. It was a handkerchief! Corrie says, how in the world would you bring me a handkerchief? Listen here to tell her the story:
I had a similar experience at The Home Depot here on Merritt Island recently when I handed a young lady at the check-out stand a handkerchief in a little package. A simple gesture part of a larger plan to spread encouragement where I carry and give out hankies. She peeled back a corner of the packaging I made which is a story about why I give hankies and said, “I know what this is! I am having surgery tomorrow and I am scared, and this is prayer from God, it is going to ok”
If you are not familiar with this ministry of mine, or the story behind it, visit my website and read more under Ministries or Blogs and if you have a handkerchief, capture this moment and lets us be encouraged on this day of Prayer 2025 God hears our prayers and answers.
